Based in Portland, Oregon, RAC (né: André Anjos) rose to prominence while at college by remixing iconic artists such as The Shins, Lana Del Rey, and Phoenix. Attracting the attention of powerhouse Interscope Records, he released his debut LP Strangers in 2014. EGO followed three years later, becoming the first album to be released on the Ethereum network. In 2020, RAC released, BOY, his third album, and the accompanying $TAPE project, widely considered to be the first successful music-based NFT. Launching his own $RAC token alongside his albums, Forbes, Billboard, and Rolling Stone have all recognised his expertise and pioneering work within the Web3 space.
